Reflecting on the Made in Hawaii Festival 2025

This year’s Made in Hawaii Festival was nothing short of amazing, and we are overflowing with gratitude for everyone who stopped by to support Welo Creations. Every smile, every conversation, and every purchase reminded us why we love being part of this incredible event.

We are always blown away by the way our community shows up to support local makers and small businesses. It’s more than just shopping — it’s about celebrating creativity, culture, and connection. Seeing customers light up when they find the perfect piece, hearing stories of how our jewelry will be worn or gifted, and watching people come back year after year fills our hearts in ways we can’t put into words.

Of course, like any community, the small business world here in Hawaiʻi is not without its challenges. Conversations about what’s “truly made in Hawaiʻi,” copycat designs, and even questions of identity and belonging are always present. But for us, what matters most is intention. We believe in lifting each other up, honoring creativity, and leading with kindness — even when frustrations arise. Uniqueness is at the core of Welo Creations, but so is aloha. If someone creates something inspired by our work, we remind ourselves that kindness should always spearhead our business, no matter how it makes us feel in the moment.

The Made in Hawaii Festival is truly a special gathering — one that reminds us why we do what we do. It brings together not only talented makers from across the islands but also the people who make it all possible: those of you who value handmade, who seek out local, and who understand the love that goes into every piece.
